Green Apple - In Progress

It's been awhile since my last post. I've been pretty busy at work and haven't had much time to paint. Anyway, here is my latest still life. It's actually one of the apples used in my previous painting. As I was taking down the last setup, I realized the apples were still in perfect condition, so I decided to get a two for one deal and repaint one of them.

I just finished laying down the second glaze layer. I'm planning on doing at least one or two more layers before I'm done. I feel like the shadow of the apple needs a little more work before I can call it quits.

Here are some progress shots:

Initial drawing.

Laying in some color.

Canvas is covered, starting to add a little more detail.

Completion of the first sitting.

Completion of the third sitting.

Hi David
Really good stuff. Your darks have really set off the apple. Will be watching out for more.
I'm a graphic designer by day too - as are a lot of artists I've found!
cheers

Hi David,
Thanks for coming by and commenting! I'm glad you're getting back into painting, you're very talented! As Mike mentioned, lots of us bloggers have Graphic or illustration backgrounds (mine's illustration). I really enjoy blogs that show the progression of a painting so this is wonderful!
