Green Apple
oil on canvas panel
6" x 6"
SOLD
This painting has been done for a while now but I've been on vacation all week and haven't had a chance to post up a good final shot. Until now I have taken photos of my work without the aid of a tripod, so most of the shots are a little blurry. On my trip this week I found a decent used tripod for really cheap so now the photos will hopefully be a little crisper.

Garlic with Silver Cup - In Progress
I finished up the "Green Apple" painting this weekend and I have to say I'm really happy with how it turned out. I'll post up a final picture once I get a good shot taken.
Last night I started a new still life. This one features a reflective silver cup and a bulb of garlic. I really wanted to paint something metal. To this point I haven't painted anything reflective, so I thought it would be a good time to give it a try. The bulb of garlic I chose has a lot going on as well. The outer skin is peeling off creating a good amount of surface texture which I hope to capture. This piece will be quite a challenge for me but I am excited to get started.

Green Apple - In Progress
It's been awhile since my last post. I've been pretty busy at work and haven't had much time to paint. Anyway, here is my latest still life. It's actually one of the apples used in my previous painting. As I was taking down the last setup, I realized the apples were still in perfect condition, so I decided to get a two for one deal and repaint one of them.
I just finished laying down the second glaze layer. I'm planning on doing at least one or two more layers before I'm done. I feel like the shadow of the apple needs a little more work before I can call it quits.
Here are some progress shots:
Initial drawing.
Laying in some color.
Canvas is covered, starting to add a little more detail.
Completion of the first sitting.
Completion of the third sitting.
